The actor and director are set to work together for the first time.

Akshay Kumar, the darling of the box-office, will act in a film to be directed by Imtiaz ALi , whose Jab we Met was one of the hits of the last year.

The tag-up has been done by production house Ashtavinayak Cinevision that has a three-film deal with Ali.

The movie in question will roll next year. It will be a romantic drama with a dash of humour.

Reports say Kareena Kapoor is under consideration for the female lead in the film. And given the fact that she, too, has a three-film deal with Ashtavinayak and a fondness for director Imtiaz Ali, she is most likely to come aboard the project.

Ali is presently working with Saif Ali Khan in the actor’s first home production co-starring Deepika Padukone. Akshay will next work in producer Sajid Nadiadwala’s Kambakht Ishq with Kareena. The movie will also have Hollywood superstar Sylvester Stallone in a brief role.
