Ghajini(2008) Music Review!
Posted On Saturday, November 22, 2008 at at 10:41 PM by PatHow does it feel when a firecracker fails to fire?
That's how Ghajini makes us feel. With Aamir all pumped up,it looks like the recession is back.Atleast A.R. Rehman does just that feeling come back to you. After feeling a lot of anticipation about a superhit what comes into our ears is doldrums!
Guzarish is the title and the BEST of the album as there is nothing else than guzarish worth a listen. After JTYJN and Yuuvvraj A.R. Rehman made us feel Beethoven's area in HINDI but faintly drops us back to typos Bollywood with this one.The music is poor and so are lyrics! The tempo doesn't match and the songs give a worn out look. Here's an individual analysis-
Guzarish
BEST SONG WITH GOOD LYRICS.
Both A.R. and Joshi live up to the mark!
Javed Ali is blissful with Sonu Nigam adds up the flavour.A highlight song!
Latoo
Little Hip-Hop Style.Shreya Ghosal streaks and the music does'nt suit the lyrics.Still worth a listen once!
Kaise Mujhe
Already it's been a disappointing season and a SAD track follows. There is even an instrumental version of this in the album. Most boring of the pack.Ignore this!Lyrics are OK but music is disaster and singer adds to failure!
Behka
Marked below Guzarish.Lyrics fail the song otherwise music score is good.Singer Dayal also performs well in this one!
Aye Bachchu
Teasing song, typical Bollywood with girls trying to fade away boys.LISTEN ONCE that's the complete review of it!
Rating-2/5
(Disappointment)
Trend wise rating-3/5(Good)
One line review-Stay away for a few days, hear Guzarish on FM and watch the REPEAT soaps as even they will sound good!

Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi Music Review!
Posted On Saturday, November 8, 2008 at at 7:10 AM by PatAs I stumbled upon the CD at Sangeet Sagar Music Superstone in Prasads I was bemused looking at the fancy image-changing outter cover, but was confused looking behind at only 6 tracks (including one instrumental). Yea, thats exactly how I felt…confused at how to react. Only 5 songs? and that too one of them is a bit so that makes it only 4 songs. On any Yash Raj films the expectations are high particularly on their music and given the extraordinary expectations one has on RNBDJ, the Original Sound Track is very ordinary but pleases one.
Tujh Mein Rab Dikhta Hai (4:37) by Roopkumar Rathod is soothing and melodius with Roopkumar in full form. The flute music and the middle of the song too continues with the soothing melody and lyrics are rich in love. Haule Haule (4:21) by Sukhwinder Singh is good because we have already seen it’s interesting video. A tiny part of it resemles the Chakde song just for a couple of seconds. The music in the song is stale and the tune is ordinary. With Dance Pe Chance (4:19) by Sunidhi Chauhan and Labh Janjua we get a break from the medium paced numbers and get to hear some tech-beats. Sunidhi does an excellent job and the lyrics are interesting and fun. Take a sample: o chal haath ghumale yaara….oh jaise suiya saath se baara…le ban gaya step soniye…tu ban gaya hep soniya…I really like the usage of the “step” in dances as it reminds me of how songs used to have dance steps! The music is peppy and energetic with the mandatory punjabi words being sprinkled in. Next in line is another peppy number with tech-beats and tunes and lyrics of famous Hindi films being sprinkled and stuffed. Sonu Nigam as usual gives a spirited performance. I think this is the item song in the film with SRK performing roles of the legends of Bollywood. It is an ok song and I am sure it will look good on screen. Tujh Mein Rab Dikhta Hai (1:38) has a heavenly begining, but proceeds as a sad slow-bit version of the first song in the album. Dancing Jodi (3:54) is the instrumental version of Dance Pe Chance so nothing new about it. It is fine.
So the net total is 4 songs and they are all ordinary with no song really standing out as a blockbuster composition. Do we put the blame on the music jodi Salim Sulaiman or Aditya Chopra’s uninspring story (I am jumping ahead). Most of the songs look situational, which means that if the story is well scripted and the love story clicks the songs will look good. As a stand alone music album it dissapoints big time. I am not saying that they must have had another 4 remixes to big it a big one, but by the time you finish listening to the album you feel incomplete. Lets see how the film has shaped up. Yes, we miss Jatin-Lalit, the jodi that Rab made for Adi-SRK jodi. If it’s first song promo is any indication then it looks like all songs will be infused with life only because of the one and only SRK.
The CD packaging is again ordinary. Yea, the front cover is fancy, but you really really miss the T-Series packaging (remember OSO, Jaane Tu…etc) for the Rs. 160 that you put to buy the piece. A full-fledged package would have been more interesting with movie stills and commentaries but the soothing music does make a rythm in back of your mind later...............
Verdict: Thumbs Up Pump out Rs. 160 for now and wait till you watch the film.
Editor's Picks: Tujh Mein Rab Dikhta Hai

Karzzzz Music Review!
Posted On Friday, August 29, 2008 at at 7:15 AM by PatThe hype was high and nerves pumping, afterall it was Himesh release after 1and 1/2 yr.People lined up outside Planet M to grab the first copy of the much awaited Karzzz and so did me and Hiren. We chatted with our fellow Himesh fans in the line and were surprised to understand that to most of them it did not matter without the music was good or not they only wanted to listen to Himesh's voice. That was recieved with a bit shock as well as excitement by both of us.But finally we got our hands on a Karzzz copy. The cover looked intresting and had one of the most expensive finish ever on a T-Series CD! We pumped up even more. There went the CD in our player in the store itself and the first song to hit our ears was 'Ek Haseena Thi' thanks to shuffle feature!
We were so soothed by the music that we instantly declared that this is a sure chartbuster!
So here goes my review-
- Lut Jao Uss Karz Pe
Lyrics-Ok
Voice-Great
- Soniye Je Tere
- Ek Haseena Thi
- Hari Om Hari Om
- Tandoori Nights
- Sisak ke
- Dhoom Teri Ishq Ki
Lyrics-Too Bad
Voice-Terrible
Karzzz Title is much bass oriented and you need fair quality speakers to understand the soul of the music and cannot be felt on portables as such.Dhoom Teri Ishq was terrible but we excuse Himesh for one bad track through the great album.Sisak siak ke is retro and suits Karz perfectly.Soniye Je Tere is hop music and foot tapping.Hari Om is already a HIT with people.
Music Rating-5/5

C Kkompany Music Review!
Posted On Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at at 7:08 AM by PatCool Album is the perfect liner for this movie music. The music is a mix of funky and hip-hop with Bollywood typos.Khoka has been heard earlier and is the crown jewel as expected.Bappa Lahiri shows off talent with this while Bappi Lahiri supports with the vocals. Sanjay Dutt surprised earlier with Asha and Friends and lives upto expectations in C Kkompany.Jaane Kya is a typical sad track with the movie having a flavour of romance to it and as expected.Speaker Baje is great and reminds us of Ae Ganpat Baja Na.Overall the movie music is great and we thus expect the movie to be good.

Singh Is Kinng Music Review!
Posted On Saturday, July 5, 2008 at at 6:12 AM by KaranThe time looked fresh and the atmoshpere could not be much better than this for the music launch. With a controversy already on music launch on Singh is Kinng by Mr.Bacchan leaving on Mr.Sallu's unexpected presence everyone thought that the film and music will give the much required respite to the industry and well if you thought it did justice then read further!
After much hype, ‘Hit Machine’ Akshay Kumar’s Singh is Kinng (SiK) music has finally arrived. Akshay Kumar has a unique distinction of being associated with high-energy blockbuster numbers from Tu Cheez Badi Mast Mast to Bhool Bhulaiya. However, these numbers are add ons as music and not really the critical component of an HIT Akshay Kumar starrer. But this has changed now that he has attained high star status and is being pitched only against SRK. In this backdrop, then, SiK is expected to be a musical joy ride and elevate the hype around the film. What makes it even more intense is Akshay’s recent statement that SiK’s music will be a chart buster. This is what i too thought seeing the teasers, but the album is surely not kinng! Read On.
The album has six soundtracks. Three are typical, routine, noisy, fast paced, punjabi bhangra, with rap and pop [Talli Hua---Labh Janjua, Neeraj Sridhar, Bhootni Ke: Daler Mehndi, Jee karda: Labh Janjua, Suzie Q ]. Two numbers are hip-hop rap n groove style [Singh is King--Akshay Kumar, RDB, Snoop Dog, Bas ek kinng: Ashish Pandit, Hard Kaur, Mika Singh], and one light slow song. The tunes range from bad to average, most of the songs are noisy and loud.
There are two songs with two different kinds of ‘Singh is Kinng’ chantings, which in my opinion is overkill and confusing. The song we were all introduced to on TV first is Bas Ek Kinng (and not Singh is Kinng as you might think if you look at the album) in which the ‘Singh is Kinng’ chanting is catchy. They should have simply stuck to only one ‘Singh is Kinng’ chanting.
Overall, this is a disappointing album. There is no blockbuster number from this one [not even a Kiya re Kiya type song from Welcome]. Instead, what the album has is a set of noisy punjabi numbers, senseless hip hop numbers and the bottom line is it has only one blockbuster line—the ’singh is king’ chanting accompanied by the flute type instrument in Bas ek Kinng. After all the hype being generated for the film, the least the makers could ensure was a good album.
Awaazbandh Verdict: Thumbs Down!
Rating-2.5/5
Editor's Pick: Bas Ek Kinng
One line review- Go catch Kismat Konnection if you bhangra guys!
Note- I am now losing confidence in Singh is Kinng. The makers are hyping it up too much. In addition, I hear every actor wears a turban in the film and now there is too much of punjabi bhangra and singh is kinng chanting…i am begining to have a weird feeling about the story and its treatment now especially after Akshay announcing to the world the theme of the film—that everybody is king and its not about Singh being King. Haa…then why even name the film Singh is King?. There does not seem to be any flow in the film…even the songs look disconnected. I just hope the film is not a mess. Let us wait and see on 8-8-08!

Money Hai To Honey Hai Music Review!
Posted On Sunday, June 29, 2008 at at 5:52 AM by Pat
Let me be frank, personally we had no expectations from this album and I am not disappointed. Nitin Arora & Sony Chandy
are fairly new names to Bollywood and might sound first to you. These people have tried to talk chalk and cheese through their music throughout the album lending the goldies kind of feeling to songs. The title track is song and does not go with theme of the movie.Ta Na Na is typical Bollywood teaser and the formula to success is been implemented in this album too indicating we will get to see a masala flick. No big deal is exactly as its name and the overall lyrics are mediocre.Dance master is a story related track it seems and no worth listen.Mr Sameer has tried to save a sinking ship but has only managed to drop a huge hole in its hull. With the depleted star cast except Govinda and Hanssika the movie is all set to be low pull film now itself it seems! I am astray that how Bollywood has sunken to such deep art works! But there have been exceptions such as Khusboo which really had good music but crap movie listing. So fans, watch and listen before you buy!

Kismat Konnection Music Review!
Posted On Saturday, June 21, 2008 at at 9:41 PM by PatWell,Kismat Konnection has quite managed to raise a lot of hype and the album has become one of the most awaited of the recent times. The music release was on time but the music stores hit the stores late as the retailers were asked to hold up following the trend of Jaane Tu......Ya Jaane Na!
The music CD is aptly priced at Rs 150/- while the tape will set you back by Rs 80/-
TIPS has had a lot of success in this year already as the music releases have been good though bad movies.Pritam has done complete justice to the soundtrack Eh Papi and the other songs just the Hindi film style. One little romance here, teaser there thats it.The complete influence of hip-hop and korean charisma can be observed throughout the album. Is This Love (Kahin Na Laage)is especially smooth and sounds great.Move Your Body Now provides that teaser feeling while Atif in his usual sense delivers Bakhuda Tumhi Ho.Overall the album is of great quality compared in recent times but still I feel little trimming would have done the trick.Still this is a great buy for all music lovers.Soniye Ve is hindi music and will set your foot tapping if you are a Bollywood buff.
Rating-4/5 (Great!)

Download Thoda Pyar Thoda Magic Mp3/Music Review!
Posted On Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at at 11:22 PM by PatYashRaj YashRaj is at it again!
Believe me guys the first time I saw the trailer of this movie the first thought that struck me was this is surely Ta Ra Rum Pum -2 a version of the failed yashraj flick. The second time I saw this was in the cinemas while watching Bhootnath and it scared me more than Bhootnath did!
Ofcourse there were some aunties and babies crying but apart from that the crowd was more intrested in listening to each other.
Thoda Pyar Thoda Magic does not even bring Thoda enthusiasm in the struggling music industry. It seems that our music producers are out of music and with Mr.Himesh out of the industry these days it has been a poor affair all over with no hits.
I thought if Jaane Tu........ raised hopes Thoda Pyar does the cremation of the same.
The music is scary and typical Bollywoodish. There is one song that I still liked though it Nihall Ho Gayi but the rest is all bakwaas!
I assure you that this season is the best of the WORST the industry has seen over last few years.
Bulbula tries to be funny but remains funny only upto kids while as per masala style of Yashraj Beetay Kal se tries to be sad and inculcates more boredom.

ADA is another album from A.R. Rahman. I really must say this a perfect time fro Rahmanism. If Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na was good in parts this is good in bits. The album has little music bits that touch you but except that there is nothing in the album. Gulfisha is okay but still disappoints. Somebody might say that ADA is better than rubbish out these days but still you expect something better from Rahman always. Seriously trust me guys this album has nothing in it that you might want to buy. Jaane Tu........ was acceptable but this is worser.Trust me better music in Bollywood will only come in June I suppose with Sarkar Raj Jalwa track sounding better than music out these days.Hope that too will not disappoint me!

Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na Music Review!
Posted On Monday, May 19, 2008 at at 7:09 AM by PatFirst of all the music I was awaiting eagerly is out now. Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na raised many hopes all over from the public as well as the music industry. I too was excited and as soon as I got a hand on the CD I realised what mistake I made. Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na might turn out a blockbuster movie but A.R. Rehman surely does not rock in the music category. The music is shoddy as lyrics are useless. Only Kabhi Kabhi Aditi Zindagi is good in the album rest all is Bakwaas! I was sincerely expecting Rahman to deliver a hit but the lyrics fail him. I think that this movie might turnout to be another AAG! Imraan Khan is awaiting a huge debut but music surely does not do it for him.
Pappu Can't Dance tries to be another Koi Kahe from DCH is on the same lines however Nazrein Milaana Nazrein Churaana is a disaster. 10min into the album with a pleasant Kabhi Kabhi I was excited and waiting for more surprises but disappointed! All the other songs are typical filmy and nothing out of the blue.Jodhaa Akbar failed the trick and Jaane Tu follows the tradition. However die-hard Rahman fans might enjoy this release.
Track List:
Kabhi Kabhi Aditi Zindagi (3:41)
Rashid Ali
Pappu Cant Dance (4:27)
Blaze, Mohd. Aslam, Tanvi, Anupama Deshpande, Benny Dayal, Tanvi, Darshana, Satish Subramanium
Jaane Tu Mera Kya Hai (3:41)
Runa Rizvi
Nazrein Milaana Nazrein Churaana ( 3:57)
Swetha Bhargave, Naresh Iyer, Satish Chakravarthye, Tanvi, Darshana, Benny Dayal, Anupama Deshpande
Tu Bole Main Boloon (4:36)
A R Rahman
Kahin To Hogi Ho (5:05)
Rashid Ali, Vasundhara Das
Jaane Tu Meri Kya Hai - 1 (5:44)
Sukhwinder Singh
Pappu Cant Dance - Remix (4:27)
Anupama Deshpande, Benny Dayal, Benny Dayal, Blaze, Tanvi, Darshana, Satish Subramanium, Mohd. Aslam

The music is carp and too old fashioned. Well we all know how much the Telugu industry has progressed but still we get this crap music on name of south india in bollywood. We in fact threw the CD after the time long listen. The music is typical Bollywood and Hinglish style!

Dhoom Dhadaka Music Review!
Posted On at at 7:08 AM by Pat
Overall a good music album and a pleasant listen.
Roop Kumar Rathod offers a fresh music world away from recent music tirades. A nice tune and soft medley accompanied. This movie does not have a big starcast but music will shine it seems. We earlier have seen this trend in Bollywood and Dhoom Dhadaka will continue it! Daler Mehndi's energy pumps up the volume in the album though Jaspinder Nirula who recently famed thorugh NDTV Imagine show is a loss!
The best song in the album and editor's pick is DHOOM DHADAKA!
01 - Daler Mehndi & Jaspinder Narula - Dhoom Dadakka
02 - Sunidhi Chauhan - Hari Om
03 - Udit Narayan, Roop Kumar Rathod & Kalpana - Ara Ra Ra Ra Ghar Aaye Chhailwa
04 - Daler Mehndi & Jaspinder Narula - Dhoom Dadakka (Remix)
05 - Sunidhi Chauhan - Hari Om (Remix)

Music Review-
The album is not good as it is hyped by Mr.Shahrukh!
It features songs for the cricket crazy but since KKR is not going well I dont think this will be a good selling proposition though the Korbo Lodbo anthem has been going good!
The best song of the album is Korbo Lodbo while Run run is a close runnerup.
Nokia has brought out this album and dont be surprised if soon phones have these pre-installed in them.
Overall the songs are a casual listen and leave, nothing extraordinary!
Rating-3/5 (Good)
