Aishwarya: I am not pregnant!
Posted On Monday, June 2, 2008 at at 9:34 PM by PatAishwarya Rai Bachchan, who till recently was uncomfortable fielding media questions on her pregnancy, has now learnt to take them in her stride. At an event in Gurgaon to promote 'Sarkar Raj' she told the press, "I am not pregnant," without looking as if she had committed blasphemy.
A news report yesterday that Aishwarya and husband Abhishek Bachchan had bought a villa in Dubia inspired a section of the press to alluded that they had done so to escape media attention during Aishwarya's pregnancy!
"I am sitting here in front of you. So, it is not true that we have got a bungalow in Dubai to hide (pregnancy) from the media," she said.
"We are not expecting a baby. In case we do, we will let you know. We will not rob you of that moment," husband Abhishek added with a tinge of sarcasm.
The media speculation was silly because the property in Dubia will not be ready for occupation till 2010.
While Aishwarya was at it, she also denied having played the diva by buying shades valued at Rs 1 million for use on set during the filming of Sarkar Raj.
"I am not wearing a Rs.1 million worth sunglass in the film as reported by the media," she said.
When never believed Aishwarya did. But somehow we suspect the wily and street smart Ramu had something to do with that plant in the media.
Aishwarya and Abhishek accompany 'Pa' Amitabh Bachchan to Nanital on Tuesday, June 3. Amitabh is going there to attend a reunion of Sherwood College class of 1958.
