Salim Asgarally Spring/Summer Saree collection: Photos!


Salim Asgarally unveiled his Spring Summer collection themed Colors of Life in Dubai in support of Dubai Health Authority's Go Red for Women campaign at the 'Bride 2008' exhibition.

The collection comprises of vibrant Arabic galebiyas, sarees, kameezes and Indian bridals vibes well with its theme.
"The collection unveiled the beauty and innocence of a woman, wherein red stands for her ever loving heart," said Asgarally, who received thunderous applause after the show.

"The need to take care of this heart which nurtures life as a mother, daughter and wife, calls for attention to the cause of the health campaign to spread awareness about the risk of cardiovascular illnesses amongst women," he added.
The collection was also aimed to promote cultural ties between Indian and Arabic people. The Arabic galebiyas were created in hues of yellow, maroon, red, turquoise, silver and gold, with Indian embroideries.

The range of sarees was coupled with long sleeved vintage blouses.The line of kameezes and evening dresses used the latest trapeze silhouette and was trimmed liberally with metallic accents in gold and silver.
The spectacular showing found its finale in a red bridal outfit which epitomized the need to take care of women's hearts in keeping with the 'Go Red for Women' campaign.
Salim Asgarally launched his label in the same name in 1991 after he returned to India with training at the fashion Institute of design and Merchandising and University of California.

Salim creations, most sought after by celebrities, can be found in most exclusive stores across India. His clientele extends to Dubai, Nairobi, Mombasa and South Africa. In addition to his already well established couture line, Salim Asgarally Weddings, Salim Asgarally Pret-a-Poret and Amourette are his new labels
